There was no way to know ahead of time how medically complex my birth would end up being, and having Ashley on our team was a huge part of what made such a wild, chaotic, adventurous birth still somehow a wonderful one. It’s hard to adequately express how much her support, grounding, kindness, humor, steadfastness, confidence, and care meant to our entire family. I earnestly would not want to experience birth without her. If you’re expecting and thinking about getting a doula – DO IT!!!
